Are you half as rich as Bill Gates?

I'd like to ask Bill Gates a hypothetical question. Given the choice between losing all his money or losing the life of one of his children which would he take?

My guess is that like almost everyone else he would choose to keep the child. Even though in his case his money is set to save countless lives in the future.

If Mr Gates values his family above his wealth and he values his family as much as I value mine doesn't that mean that I am more than half as rich as Bill?

And doesn't that apply to anyone with a family or a friend for that matter?

Think about that when you next buy a lottery ticket and indulge you spending fantasies.
